Suggestions for use: Audiobooks are great for reluctant or struggling readers. By listening to the book whilst following the text, their fluency, comprehension and confidence is increased. Similarly, children for whom English is an additional language or whose parents are not as fluent with reading English as speaking it can benefit greatly from access to audiobooks.
Audiobooks are also great to use during station teaching - a small group could listen to part of the story outside the classroom, or using headphones as a 'rest' station.

Suggestions for use: Use this Kahoot quiz once all 26 single letter phonemes have been taught and children can blend three phonemes competently to make CVC words.
This quiz could be used as an assesssment of learning and also as an assessment for learning as detailed breakdowns are provided.
30 images and questions are provided so it can be played with the whole class. The Kahoot can be duplicated and cut into smaller Kahoots e.g. to use for homework.
This Kahoot could also be used during station teaching e.g. during Literacy Lift-off os the Power Hour.
