This resource should enable a child to:
  • recall and talk about significant events and details in stories
  • re-read, retell and act out familiar stories, poems or parts of stories
Suggestions for use: Use the phonics worksheet as an early finisher's activity or for paired work - focuses on ~en and ~ox words. Develops phonological awareness. Use the word mat to help children in retelling the story in their own words - or to create their own version of the story with e.g. an alternative ending Use the mapping worksheet to check memory and recall of the story - integrate to a Geography lesson on mapping. Also develops pencil control. Extension activity: create a new path or route for Rosie and/or the fox to take.
