A printable Board Game created by Bev Evans of communication4all that accompanies the book Dear Zoo.
Players move around the board. Every time they land on a new animal they pick up a tick card to place over that animal on their board. There are 3 chances to collect every animal. If they do not fill their board when they get to the home turn they must go around again, but there are shortcuts home if they complete their card and land on the appropriate space. Winner is the first player home that has collected all the animals

Resource type: Assessment, Worksheet
This document contains two quilting grids that allow children to practise reading four common non-decodable or high frequency words for reading. These are words that cannot be blended fully and need to be learned by sight. Children have to find each word in the grid or 'quilt' and colour it based on the code at the top. Two different grids are provided.

Suggestions for use: Use this worksheet to allow children to practise reading 4 common sight/tricky words and to colour them according to a code. Ask the child to read the word as s/he colours it.
Two grids are provided so if used in a classroom, it could be a basic assessment as children could not easily copy from the child beside them.
